Lamborghini Secures International GT

Drawing on over two decades of experience in the transportation and logistics sectors, Stephen Patrick Day serves as the chief executive officer and president of the Houston, Texas-based third-party logistics provider Logistics Group International (LGI). Stephen Day has a passion for high-speed cars, boats, and related racing events outside of his professional obligations, and he regards Lamborghini as his favorite supercar manufacturer. In October 2021, a Lamborghini GT3 Junior Driver pair claimed the International GT Open championship title, making it the Italian carmaker’s fourth GT Open championship victory in the last six years.

Michele Beretta and Frederik Schandorff of the Vincenzo Sospiri (VS) Racing team secured the 2021 title as drivers of the #63 car, a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo. The pair began accumulating points early in the seven-round tournament, which started in April in Portimao, Portugal. After victories in rounds two through five, Beretta and Schandorff entered the final race weekend with a 30-point advantage.

The last round of the International GT Open 2021 took place October 23-24 in Barcelona, Spain. While #63 came in seventh place in Race 1 of the event, Beretta and Schandorff procured enough points to earn them the championship. Their primary rival also failed to attain the headway necessary to carry their standing as competitors for the title into the final race. In addition to their championship success, Schandorff and Beretta concluded the 2021 season on a celebratory note with a fourth-place win in Race 2.
