LGI Forms Partnership

Drawing upon more than two decades of logistics leadership experience, Stephen Day serves as president and CEO of the Houston-based Logistics Group International (LGI). Responsible for the growth of the company, Stephen Patrick Day recently facilitated a strategic partnership with MyCarrierPackets.

LGI announced its partnership with MyCarrierPackets on March 19, 2021. An industry leader for carrier on-boarding, MyCarrierPackets' online platform provides transportation and logistic companies with benefits including decreased operational costs, reduced fraud exposure, and improved efficiency. As a result, LGI can now deliver products safely and more quickly while ensuring maximum profitability for customers.

The online platform prompts partners to upload logos and color schemes as well as relevant documents to personalize their online packet webpage. They can then send their carriers an electronic invitation to fill out the online carrier packet. The average time for the traditional method of setting up carriers is 45 minutes, whereas MyCarrierPackets allows customers to qualify and certify carriers within five minutes.

A native of Baytown, Texas, Stephen Patrick Day attended Robert E. Lee High School and Lee College before embarking on a career in the transportation and logistics industry that has spanned more than two decades. After spending five years as a partner with RLS International Transport in Houston, Stephen Patrick Day formed Logistics Group International, Inc. (LGI), as president and CEO in 2002 and, seven years later, formed LGI Transport, LLC. The companies offer a range of transportation services, including heavy haul, heavy lift, cross border shipping, truckload & LTL freight arrangement, warehousing & project management.

Mr. Day has earned designation as a Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) and a proud member of the Diamond Broker program considered “ Best in Class” for performance, credit & bonding requirements. He stays current with best practices in the trucking and logistics field through his membership in the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) and Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SCRA), and he shares ideas and experiences with fellow business leaders as a member of the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO).

In addition to his work in the logistics and transportation field, Mr. Day lends his business leadership skills to Petro Wire & Steel, Inc. As a partner in the Houston-based company, he helps direct one of the region’s premier distributor of custom steel fabrications, wire cloth & perforated metal. The firm’s client base includes companies in the petrochemical, agricultural, and mining industries, among others.
