A successful logistics professional, Stephen Patrick Day brings over 20 years of experience to his position as the president of Logistics Group International (LGI) Inc., a Houston-based freight brokerage company. Stephen Day is also a Certified Transportation Broker (CTB).
The Certified Transportation Broker program gives transportation and freight brokerage professionals the opportunity to obtain the most recognized broker certification in the industry. Currently, third-party logistics (3PLs) providers have the highest level of confidence in those holding this certificate. Most corporate managers in the transportation industry incorporate CTB into employee development and training plans to indicate their commitment to customer satisfaction.
To join the CTB program, a candidate must have a minimum of five eligibility points. A minimum of one point should be earned through professional experience in logistics management, property brokerage, or other third-party experience. Complementary eligibility points should be earned through formal education such as an associate or undergraduate degree (two or three points respectively), or a graduate degree (four points). A degree in transportation and logistics may include an extra point.
A candidate with five or more total points has a higher probability of completing the CTB course and exam successfully. For those with less than five aggregate points, a TIA New Broker Course may be considered.
