New Cigarette Owners Announce Planned Superyacht

Texas-based executive Stephen Patrick Day leads Logistics Group International (LGI) in Houston as CEO and president. A certified Transportation Broker and certified Diamond Broker, he has been working in the transportation industry for over two decades. A fan of hyper and super cars Stephen Day of Logistics Group International stays abreast of news relating to many fast vehicle manufacturers, including Cigarette Racing.

Founded in 1969, Cigarette Racing has long been associated with high-performance powerboats, particularly among go-fast racing enthusiasts. Within 10 years, it had become a household name popular with many luminaries, such as Princess Caroline of Monaco, King Juan Carlos of Spain, and President George HW Bush.

Throughout its history, Cigarette has had several different owners at the helm. Under the ownership of Skip Braver, who bought the company in 2002, the business opened a new production facility in Florida and introduced a new line of fishing center consoles. In 2007, it began an annual partnership with Mercedes-AMG that resulted in customized AMG models built by the two businesses. And now, Cigarette is exploring a new path forward with the company's recent purchase by John H. Ruis and Ophir Sternberg.

The two new owners, a Miami attorney and the owner of Lionheart Capital investment firm, plan on introducing larger boats to Cigarette’s lineup. Specifically, they announced the upcoming 130-foot watercraft designed as a luxury superyacht. The superyacht sketches blend elegance with a fine European look thanks to input from several Italian yacht designers.
