Transporting Over-Size Loads

As Logistics Group International (LGI) CEO, Stephen Patrick Day manages the movement of large equipment and fabricated pieces to meet the needs of his diverse client base in the manufacturing and energy sectors. Stephen Patrick Day’s Houston-based LGI team has particular knowledge of handling over-dimensional loads and oversize freight.

With local and state regulations coming into play, oversize loads are termed as such because it exceeds the dimensions and weight of the trailer. Over height loads exceed 13 feet, six inches in height. Wide loads exceed a width of 8 feet. And overweight loads are above 46,000 pounds. Any truckload may exceed regulations in multiple categories and thus require a highly coordinated, compliant, and safety-focused transportation process.

Whether the oversize item is a tractor or wind blade, the rate for transporting varies depending on the dimension, weight, and the distance traveled. At Logistics Group International they have the experience and commitment to safety to get the job done right the first time.
